These two were supposedly based on a real couple, who said they wouldn’t board a life boat as long as there were younger people still aboard the ship. They both went below deck, presumably to their room, and that’s the last time they were seen.
They are based on the owners of Macys department store. They both were offered a place on a lifeboat but they guy refused to go as long as there were still women aboard. His wife didnt want to leave his side. And the werent actually in bed when the ship went down, they were on a pair of deck chairs.
