“Destined for the Stars”

The sisters rub their eyes sleepily, as something calls them to the night
So Eva and Elisa got out of bed, and saw the glowing light.
The two sisters are always together, constantly attached at the hip
And together they walked outside and saw the alien ship.

The alien ship absorbs all sound, so their backyard is eerie and calm
Elisa holds Eva’s hand tightly, feeling her sister’s heartbeat in her palm.
The beam echoes their heart’s rhythm, as they become enveloped in its glow
And they feel themselves lifted into the air and pulled into the U.F.O.

The ship takes off silently, and blasts off into the stars
In one blink they’ve passed the moon; in two blinks they’re past Mars.
They know mom will miss them lots, but they’re going to explore the Milky Way
And even though they like the Earth, they were never meant to stay.
